The local storytelling series Bloom: The Stage Where Our Stories Grow will return to the Walnut House on Thursday evening, February 13, with a one-night show paying homage to the multitudes of love and relationships and how we see ourselves in them called “Mixtapes & Mirrors” This multigenre event will weave live music, words and art. Participating creatives include the music of Gabe David and performances by Diane Austin, Hil Hoover, Mike James, Gary Parker and organizers KJ Kemp and Kory Wells. Artists Ryan Frizzell and Gregory Lannom will contribute their talents as well.
Donations will be accepted at the door, which opens at 6:30 PM for the 7:00 show. Two open-mic slots, five minutes each, will be available to interested audience members to share a story, spoken word, or poetry related to love and relationships or their metaphors for the evening, mixtapes or mirrors.
Bloom is a quarterly event that brings a blend of storytelling, poetry, music, and art to the Murfreesboro stage. The series is produced by storyteller Kara Kemp with assistance from poet Kory Wells.
