Enjoy listening to poetry and spoken word—or share some writing of your own—with a special edition of Poetry in the Boro on Sunday afternoon, November 14. We’ll be celebrating – and distributing – our new 2022 calendars. We’ll enjoy a mix of calendar contributors and open mic readers from 3:30 to 4:30 or so, and we’ll also be introducing you to the calendar photographers in attendance.
We’re thrilled to be returning to the Walnut House, at 116 N. Walnut St. in downtown Murfreesboro. There is plenty of street parking in the area (no time limits on weekends) and also a nearby parking garage.
Doors open at 3:00 PM for mingling and picking up your calendars. After the reading time, we’ll be available to distribute calendars to anyone else dropping by late (4:30-5ish) or deciding they need another copy.
Readers can share poetry or spoken word: 2 pieces or 4 minutes, whichever comes first. Reading a favorite poem by another writer is fine, too.
Pre-registration to read isn’t required, but you can help us out and assure your time by doing so in this Google form.
CHALLENGE WORDS
If you like, write a piece to share that includes one, some, or all of the following words chosen by our audience last time:
spicy | octopus | cyborg | indicative | warp | ketamine | rebound | wash | cajole | scratch
HEALTH PRECAUTIONS
While local conditions have improved, the CDC still considers local spread to be “high.” We appreciate distancing and masking to help protect the vulnerable among us.
