Join us to listen to some poetry—or share some writing of your own—at Poetry in the Boro on Sunday evening, 4/16. We’ll be celebrating National Poetry Month by welcoming feature Allison Blevins, visiting writer, and the Rutherford Arts Alliance as they collaborate with us for their April meeting.
EVENT DETAILS
We’ll be meeting at the MTSU Foundation House, which is located in the OFF CAMPUS complex with Miller Coliseum at 324 W. Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the program begins at 6:00. Following Allison’s reading and some brief announcements, we have time to mingle and purchase books. Then about an hour of open mic follows. We welcome all styles of poetry and spoken word!

ABOUT THE OPEN MIC
Open mic readers can share poetry or spoken word: 2 poems or four minutes, whichever comes first. Reading a favorite poem by another writer is fine, too.
We ask that readers be prepared to keep their pieces “PG-13” depending on our venue and audience, which sometimes includes younger people.
CHALLENGE WORDS
Here are our challenge words, chosen by last month’s audience. If you like, write a new piece to share that includes one, some, or ALL of these words:
launch | stout | encapsulate | gallop | high-five | concatenate | extraordinary | pith | truculent | finally
