Poetry in the Boro is delighted to be partnering once again with the Blackman High poetry club, SOUP (Society of Undiscovered Poets), for their fundraiser to benefit the Murfreesboro Rescue Mission. The event will be held on Friday evening, November 14, at 6:00 PM at the Blackman High Library, 3956 Blaze Drive, Murfreesboro.
Performances include Blackman high poets and special guest, author Jeff Zentner. Zentner is the author of numerous YA novels, including The Serpent King and In the Wild Light. Visual art by Blackman students will also be on display. We’ll have a cameo appearance by a Poetry in the Boro regular as well.
We hope that a lot of our community will come out to support these young poets and this good cause! A $10 donation includes a soup dinner prepared by Blackman Culinary Arts, but if you want to come and cannot afford that, please send us an email for a sponsored ticket.
To find the library, park in front of the school and look for an entrance just to the left of the main doors.
