The impact of the pandemic is profound, complicated, and ongoing. To help our community heal and grieve, Poetry in the Boro has gathered a team of area poets to write haiku in memory of those lost to COVID-19 in Rutherford County and Middle Tennessee. Here are a couple of the first haiku written for this project:
You loved green. We loved The bright star of your laughter. It was always spring. —In memory of Ann Slater, died Dec. 11, 2020 Your Marlboro voice Singing to the deer at dusk. Eagle feathers, flutes. —In memory of Ric Brown, died Nov. 15, 2020
